I have the (or an) edition with her drawings -- they are stick-ey but very incisive.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19954746.post-1152978259805653892006-07-15T11:44:00.000-04:002006-07-15T11:44:00.000-04:00Stevie, like so many poets, is in love with death....Stevie, like so many poets, is in love with death. Is it a pose? No poseur, Stevie displays a self-aware irony that makes me take her seriously. There is a Penguin edition of her collected poems, which also prints her child-like doodles and drawings.

Jee LeongJee Leonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01979179110231643931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19954746.post-1152978096317814272006-07-15T11:41:00.000-04:002006-07-15T11:41:00.000-04:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Jee Leonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01979179110231643931noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19954746.post-1152975502630672722006-07-15T10:58:00.000-04:002006-07-15T10:58:00.000-04:00Thx for putting this up, never heard of Stevie Smi...Thx for putting this up, never heard of Stevie Smith before this nice introduction.dreameridiothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14124953269206273794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19954746.post-1152965262024278992006-07-15T08:07:00.000-04:002006-07-15T08:07:00.000-04:00Much in Stevie Smith about the desirability of dea...Much in Stevie Smith about the desirability of death. "My heart goes out to my Creator in love" comes to mind. One thing I really enjoy is that repetitive tic she sometimes has ("deeply morbid, deeply morbid" "all alone, all alone" etc), which slows things down a bit when she is doing one of her flying pieces. Thanks for sharing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
