No Blessing for Same-sex Unions

"…seven conservative archbishops declined communion rather than celebrate the Eucharist with Bishop Jefferts Schori." --New York Times, February 20, 2007

I would compare the primately righteous
to Pharisees complaining about Jesus
feeding with sinners, except that,

in her clerical robes, Bishop Katherine
is not as hot as Mary Magdalene,
and Christ has been snapped up and shat.

I appreciate this poem Jee Leong. The closing Christ image is apt - neither too mild nor too extreme.

Thanks, Greg.

Being neither religious or gay, I tend to think that if one is excluded by his religion, he should simply abandon that religion instead of trying to reform it fom within.

Hi larry,
I guess I acted on a sentiment similar to the one you expressed. What's harder to leave behind are the emotions, the world view, the unconscious habits of thought, the language (oh, the language) one grew up with. I am still confessing my sins, though no God hears.

I'm sure you'll love to add "he who is without sin, cast the first stone" while conveniently ignoring the clause that follows: "go and sin no more".

God bless,

Dear Anon,
the difference between you and me is that I try not to be Jesus's mouthpiece. God bless you too.

Er, Jee, did I misquote what Jesus said? I thought I lifted it word for word from the bible. If you feel obliged to use a metaphor, a parrot would be more precise. That figures your objection.

And God bless you indeed!

Actually, I was being too kind. If I follow my first instinct, what I would have like to say was:

Now, that was a little too mischievious, Jee, to attempt to put down a fellow-writer with such snide remarks. Now tell me, the numerous times you quoted the mortals so esteemed in your own eyes, are you being their mouthpiece or a parrot.

I hope I'm wrong, that you're not capable of gentlemanly discussion without such display of superiority.
