Poem: I Am My Names (S.)

M.

S.

What burden does a birthplace lay
on the shoulders of maturity?
What claims belong to a small country?

Declaiming against its measurements,
I learn the burden of its song,
and long to make the earth a poem.

My name is Singapore. I am a question.

Hi Jee,

It's an enormously appealing series. If there's any room for suggestions, I think it works best where you give the most attention to meter, like in A and V. It's still intriguing but less mesmerizing where you seem to lose concern with the tetrametric infrastructure.

Hi Larry,
Good to hear from you again. I hope you are very well. I agree with your suggestion. Will be thinking about that when I revise.
